Job summary

Roku, Inc. is seeking a senior architectural leader to design and implement a highly available, scalable billing platform that handles billions of viewers across AWS and GCP.

You will own end-to-end initiatives and code roughly 80% of the time, setting engineering standards and guiding teams. You will evaluate new technologies, design shared architectural layers, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, and Ops to deliver resilient services for streaming, APIs, notifications, and batch

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and running large-scale services in subscriptions, payment, and billing domains.
• Expertise in subscription or payment flows including tax, payment, renewal, dunning, and invoicing.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools and production Workflow integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation and implementation of new technologies and designs; drive architectural decisions.
• Code roughly 80% of the time and ensure production readiness and code quality.
• Collaborate across Product, Engineering, QA, and Ops to deliver resilient services across modules.
• Architect shared layers (queuing, event systems, memory clusters) for reuse across teams.
• Own design and delivery of platform features in partnership with cross-functional teams.
