Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital seeks a Manager, Payer Contracting and Provider Enrollment to lead strategic contracting activities and oversee the Provider Enrollment team. This senior role partners with the Director of Managed Care to advance the hospital's contracting strategy across commercial payers, Medicaid MCOs, and value-based arrangements.

The position is full-time, hybrid in Akron, OH (2–3 days onsite).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 8+ years in healthcare contracting or credentialing.
• Minimum 5 years in healthcare contracting with pediatric-focused experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead payer contract negotiations for assigned payers, develop rate proposals and contract language protections.
• Perform or coordinate complex financial modeling to evaluate proposals and renewal strategies.
• Draft and review contract language on reimbursement methodologies, access provisions, and compliance.
• Supervise Provider Enrollment staff, including training and performance management.
• Coordinate cross-functional input from Revenue Cycle, Legal, Finance and clinical leadership.
