Job summary

Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) Airport is seeking a Pavement Maintenance Technician to operate light and heavy equipment and repair concrete and asphalt surfaces across runways, taxiways, roads, and parking areas. You will coordinate excavation prep and ensure safe, efficient work in a high-traffic airport environment.

You will train others on safe equipment use, set up traffic control, and report inventory and equipment status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience in concrete or asphalt repair and finish; or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid Class A commercial driver’s license in a predetermined time frame by the supervisor.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain a flagger certification by ATSSA or equivalent in a predetermined time frame by the supervisor.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain a Traffic Control Technician certification by ATSSA or equivalent in a predetermined time frame by the supervisor.
• Must be able to work rotating shift assignment. Must pass a medical physical examination.
• Must have a good private driving record: (a) no more than two (2) convictions of moving violations in the last 36 months and (b) no DWI convictions in the last 60 months.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain runways, taxiways, roadways, and parking lots.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and power/hand tools.
• Train Pavement Workers on safe operation and use of equipment.
• Set up traffic control devices to create a safe work site.
• Be on call to respond to emergencies requiring Pavements Shop assistance.
• Document and report status of inventory and equipment.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and checks on fluid levels.
