Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Transport Clerk to support patient escort, clerical, and computer tasks for the patient transport system in a busy hospital environment.

The role involves coordinating staff, scheduling transport requests, and maintaining equipment par levels while ensuring patient privacy and professional conduct. Prior customer service experience and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or educational equivalent; Associate Degree preferred.
• Two to three years of general experience in customer service and coordinating multiple tasks in a high-volume department.
• Proficient data entry, telephone skills, and professional patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor in day-to-day operations, monitor staff and training records, and manage transport-related tasks.
• Dispatch jobs using the patient transport system, adjust priorities for data integrity and service response.
• Assist in training staff on the patient tracking system and conduct staff audits to ensure SOP compliance.
• Maintain par levels of patient equipment and supplies, and ensure clean, safe work environment.
