Job summary

UPMC Passavant in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Full-Time Evening Patient & Family Concierge to support the 6 South Surgical Oncology team. The role combines hospitality with hospital operations, including patient admissions, test coordination, and bedside communications.

Shifts include evening, night, weekend and holidays; 36 hours per week. Salary and title depend on education and experience, with opportunities to grow within UPMC’s patient experience program.

Responsibilities

• Handle department administrative tasks: answer phones, transfer calls, print reports, enter physician orders, distribute mail, and check crash carts.
• Coordinate patient tests, procedures, and transports; complete errands; order and maintain CyraCom equipment; assign Responder 5 and phones.
• Build and maintain patient charts, file papers, manage auto-print reports, and print chart copies upon request.
• Complete patient admissions, discharges, and transfers through the electronic health record.
• Update Bedboards and communicate changes; place work orders or contact Biotronics for equipment issues.
• Destination Coordinator duties: greet guests, provide directions, and access patient information confidentially.
• EVS Associate duties: clean areas, make beds, report issues.
• Transporter duties: safely move patients and equipment, deliver supplies, and record transports.
• Supply & Equipment: order, inventory, and stock patient areas.
• Patient Care Support: respond to call lights, round hourly, review care plans, perform audits.
