Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA, seeks a Senior Patient Access Representative / Team Lead for the Night 3rd shift to support patient registration across departments. You will act as a trusted system super-user and mentor staff while coordinating with leadership on QA, training, and reporting tasks.

The role requires patient access expertise, on-call availability, and a background in healthcare customer service.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service and/or data entry.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Associate or bachelor's degree may substitute two years of experience.
• Proficiency in keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for the Emergency Department and other unit registrations.
• Serve as registration system super-user and mentor staff.
• Assist Team Coordinator and leadership with QA audits and reporting.
• Participate in on-call rotation during weekdays and weekends.
• Provide department orientation and preceptor duties.

Responsibilities include registering patients for the Emergency Department, and/or various registration areas of the hospital. The Patient Access Team Leader also assists the Team Coordinator and department leadership by serving as registration system super-user, taking on-call rotation during the week and on the weekends, participating in the interviewing process, preparing and reviewing reports, performing QA audits, mentoring and training staff, managing department supply levels, and participating in meetings and workgroups. The Team Lead is required to meet the written requirements and competency to serve as a preceptor and to provide department orientation.
