Job summary

Fish & Richardson P.C. is seeking a Patent Paralegal in our Practice Systems Department to support patent prosecution in a fast-paced environment.

You will prepare and file documents for all phases of patent prosecution, manage a prosecution docket, and track billable hours to meet a 1300-hour target. The role requires U.S. prosecution experience, strong organization, and teamwork. Office presence is needed at least 3 days per month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or ABA-recognized Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as a Patent Paralegal with U.S. prosecution knowledge.
• U.S. prosecution experience required; foreign experience a plus.
• Meet the firm’s billing requirement of 1300 hours per year.
• Willingness to assist team in a collaborative environment.
• Experience preparing and filing information disclosure statements and formal documents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Able to work in the office at least 3 days per month.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, obtain, and file documents related to all phases of patent prosecution (requests for client instructions; assignments; information disclosure statements; responses to office actions).
• Maintain and manage a prosecution docket and ensure due dates and deadlines are met.
• Account for all hours worked by entering time into the firm’s timekeeping system to meet billable goals.
