Fish & Richardson P.C. in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced Patent Paralegal to join our Practice Systems Department. You will accurately prepare, obtain, and file patent prosecution documents, and manage a busy docket while ensuring deadlines are met.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate and 5+ years of U.S. patent prosecution experience, with the ability to meet a 1300-hour annual billing target.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or ABA-recognized paralegal certificate.
• 5+ years of patent paralegal experience with U.S. prosecution knowledge.
• Ability to meet the firm’s 1300 hours/year billing requirement.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, obtain, and file documents related to patent prosecution (e.g., instructions, assignments, information disclosure statements, and responses to office actions).
• Maintain and manage a prosecution docket and monitor due dates to ensure timely filings and deadlines.
• Enter time into the firm’s timekeeping system to achieve the billable hours target.
