Job summary

First Baptist Church of Port Angeles, WA is seeking a Senior Pastor who demonstrates a deep love for Jesus and God’s Word, models humility and integrity, and provides Christ-centered leadership to shepherd and cast a clear vision for the church’s future.

The pastor will oversee day-to-day operations, lead worship, preaching, weddings, and funerals, develop disciples and training, and work with staff and volunteers to build a healthy ministry environment.

Qualifications

• Candidate should hold at least a bachelor’s and a master’s degree or equivalent.
• Licensing or ordination recognized nationally/regionally.
• Experience outside church work is preferred.
• Proven administrative experience and stewardship of time.
• Active personal spiritual growth and disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vision discernment and mission implementation, including worship services, preaching, weddings, and funerals.
• Lead discipleship and leadership training to develop mature followers and ministry leaders.
• Provide congregational care and foster Christ-centered community and accountability.
• Coordinate with Elders, boards, and committees for long-range planning and execution.
• Supervise staff and maintain a healthy ministry environment aligned with the church vision.
• Maintain office administration, records, and accessible interaction hours.
• Collaborate with Mission Northwest and Pastor Connect Groups for broader witness.
• Engage with local churches to advance a shared mission beyond the congregation.
