Job Description

First Christian Church (FCC) in Beaver, Oklahoma, is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor. The position is available immediately. We are a non-denominational, independent Christian church with an average Sunday morning attendance of approximately 50. Our church family is led by a Church Board consisting of one Elder and eight Deacons, with a part-time office secretary on staff.

At this time, FCC does not have a youth pastor or active children’s and youth departments. We do, however, have a Children’s Church program during the sermon portion of our Sunday morning worship service. We are looking for a pastor who will join us in serving Christ, shepherding our congregation, reaching our community, and helping us grow both spiritually and numerically.

Qualifications

• Meets the Scriptural qualifications of an Elder.
• Is strong in the faith and full of the Holy Spirit.
• Is doctrinally sound and firmly grounded in the truth of God’s Word, the Holy Bible.
• Shares a vision consistent with FCC’s mission to seek and save the lost.
• Agrees to and adheres to FCC’s bylaws.
• Works collaboratively and cooperatively with the Elder and Church Board while remaining faithful to Scriptural teachings.

Responsibilities

We recognize that God equips each person He calls into ministry with different gifts and abilities. One pastor may have particular strengths in leadership, administration, shepherding, pastoral care, outreach, or other areas of ministry. The specific job description will be developed with consideration for the gifts, talents, education, and ministry experience of the individual God calls to serve at First Christian Church.
