Job summary

First Baptist Church of Ashburn, GA is seeking a called and spiritually mature Southern Baptist pastor to faithfully lead our congregation in worship, teaching, and ministry. The ideal candidate will uphold the authority of Scripture, preach and teach God's word faithfully, and model prayer, evangelism, and pastoral care to our church family and community.

You will provide leadership alongside deacons, oversee ordinances, officiate weddings and funerals, and shepherd members through visitation,

Qualifications

• Called, qualified and spiritually mature Southern Baptist pastor.
• Commitment to the authority of Scripture and faithful preaching/teaching.
• Engaged in evangelism, discipleship, missions, prayer and shepherding the church family.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver weekly Bible-based sermons including Sunday night and Wednesday night prayer meetings.
• Provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and encouragement to the congregation.
• Visit and minister to members including homebound people, hospitalized, and those in need.
• Oversee the administration of the ordinances. (Baptism and the Lord's Supper)
• Work alongside Deacons and committees in planning and decision making with congregational support in all attributes of the church.
• Oversee the administration and management of all areas of the congregation's ministry in consultation with Deacons, staff and church members.
• Officiate weddings, funerals and other pastoral duties.
• Represent the church with the local community.
