Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks a Part-Time Flight Simulation Trainer 5 to operate the VATS simulator at JITTC-N, Nellis AFB, NV. The role supports USAF Weapons School and operational units, coordinating with IPs to present a realistic air picture for training objectives.

The Senior-level position requires extensive fighter pilot experience, on-site work, and ability to coordinate mission planning and debrief tools, with opportunities to lead training scenarios and SME guidance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Master’s in related field; or 19+ years relevant experience with a HS diploma/equivalent.
• Current or previous military fighter pilot.
• Work Environment: On-site only; must be able to work morning/evening shifts to support training operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate VATS fighter simulator cockpit controls and related systems.
• Act as Mission Director or Red Czar as required by scenario.
• Operate simulator console and debriefing system during/after missions.
• Provide SME on threat air tactics and procedures during planning/execution.
• Support development and integration of JITTC-N events to maximize training.
• Lead scenarios and inputs for training events.
• Create/modify mission planning materials to ensure training objectives.
• Provide instructor-level expertise to shape tactical training.
• Report issues with stimulation software and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Lead small teams to meet customer requirements.
