Job summary

Stellar Cyber is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to own parser development for our AI-driven SecOps platform. You will design, implement, and maintain parsing/normalization components turning diverse security data into a unified schema for detection and analytics engines.

You will drive framework decisions, handle complex log formats, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable parser solutions, while mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with data parsing, integration, or log processing.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Ruby, or C++.
• Deep familiarity with common log formats (JSON, XML, CSV, syslog, key‑value, unstructured).
• Strong command of regular expressions and data transformation principles.
• Experience with APIs, web services, and streaming data sources.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to accelerate engineering workflows with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Own the parser framework and improve performance on hot paths.
• Design schema mapping and normalization, and decide on generalization vs. special-casing.
• Lead end-to-end parser integrations and set reusable patterns.
• Collaborate with detection, data, and integration teams to ensure useful parsed data.
• Mentor junior engineers through design reviews and code reviews.
