Job summary

Department of Public Safety in Carson City seeks Parole and Probation Specialist 2 to manage multiple caseloads, audit offender statuses, and coordinate with law enforcement and service providers. Roles involve tracking, documentation, and compliance monitoring across various units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with 2 years paraprofessional/technical experience; or related NV state service experience.
• Process documentation for offender releases and pre-release plans; review court/parole board files for signatures, histories, and conditions.
• Research offender criminal and personal histories; obtain reporting instructions; transfer offender files to appropriate locations.
• Monitor offenders via written and telephonic contact; ensure compliance with agreements; manage payments and arrears.
• Develop and maintain case files with legal documents; audit case files per agency standards and prepare activity reports.
• Monitor hearing dates; provide documentation and testimony as needed; follow court/parole board directives.

Responsibilities

• Process documentation for offender releases and parole status.
• Review and file court/parole board documents with signatures and plans.
• Research offender histories and arrange program participation upon release.
• Monitor offender compliance through written/phone communication and payments.
• Maintain case files and produce reports on violations, progress, and caseload status.
• Provide testimony at hearings and follow up on directives.
