The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources seeks a Parks and Trails Development Specialist in St. Paul. You will lead and coordinate statewide park, trail, and water access development projects with multiple funding sources, and provide technical expertise in park infrastructure decisions.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of professional level experience in construction project management / planning.
  • Bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages and budgets.
  • Knowledge of building codes, rules and laws; ability to review drawings.
  • Strong communication and teamwork to implement program regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support, coordinate, implement, and sometimes lead statewide park, trail and water access development projects with diverse funding streams.
  • Coordinate facilities and infrastructure programs to set standards for processes, designs, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with resource management groups and partners on resource impacts and governance.
  • Assist with capital funding priorities and budget preparation; manage resources for statewide spending plans.
  • Represent the division in dealings with other agencies, parks and recreation groups, and non‑profits.
