Job summary

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking a permanent, full-time Natural Resources Technician for Parks & Trails in Elysian, MN. The role focuses on leading field work, implementing land management projects, and coordinating staff and volunteers within Region 4.

The position requires a Class A license, a related associate degree or two years of equivalent experience, and a strong emphasis on safety, data analysis, and public engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience providing work direction to staff, volunteers or other teams.
• Public contact experience is required.
• Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to create a positive work environment.
• Ability to operate tractors, trucks, mowers and other outdoor equipment.
• Knowledge of GIS/GPS for mapping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creation of work plans and direct field staff and crews.
• Provide technical assistance in Area 4C - Elysian Office operations.
• Implement maintenance, development, and rehabilitation programs.
• Analyze data, prepare reports, and provide GIS support.
• Coordinate visitor relations and enforce division rules.
