Job summary

The City of Saint Charles, MO is hiring a Ranger Sergeant in the Parks & Recreation Department. The role oversees park patrols, outdoor education, investigations, and traffic regulation under the Chief Park Ranger.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and POST certification; prior supervisory law enforcement experience is preferred. The position is full-time with a comprehensive benefits package and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Peace Officer by Missouri DPS (POST Certified).
• Experience supervising law enforcement is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a valid driver’s license by date of hire.
• U.S. citizenship as required by law.
• Minimum 21 years of age at time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Patrols park grounds and facilities to protect patrons and investigate suspicious activity.
• Arrests criminal violators and coordinates activities with other law enforcement.
• Assist in developing park patrol programs and public relations material.
• Assist in budget preparation and staffing decisions for the Ranger Division.
• Supervise Ranger employees and review reports for compliance.
