Job summary

The City of Saint Charles Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a Part-Time Park Ranger. This seasonal role is not scheduled to work more than 1,499 hours per year and supports park patrol, investigation and traffic regulation activities under supervision.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, Missouri POST certification, and First Aid/CPR. Applicants must meet citizenship and age requirements, with a comprehensive multi-step selection process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified peace officer by Missouri POST.
• Past law enforcement and supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid drivers' license by hire date.
• US citizenship as required by law.
• Minimum 21 years of age at employment.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• MO POST CEU and Dept CEU requirements.

Responsibilities

• Patrols park grounds and facilities; directs traffic and assists patrons.
• Investigates suspicious activity and coordinates with other agencies.
• Develops and conducts park safety programs and PR materials.
• Assists in risk management and safety program administration.
• Provides a safe environment during special events.
• Gathers information and maintains records; prepares reports.
• Testifies in court as needed; assists police or other agencies.
• Conducts inspections and secures park grounds nightly.
