ARIZONA STATE PARKS AND TRAILS is seeking a Park Ranger Senior to lead maintenance and support park operations at Lyman Lake State Park in St. Johns, AZ.
Under minimal supervision, you will oversee guest services, interpret natural and historic features, enforce park rules, and help train staff and volunteers. You will manage cashier duties, assist with safety protocols, and coordinate maintenance tasks like trail upkeep and basic repairs.

Under minimal supervision, serves in a leadership role performing a variety maintenance and assisting administratedwork activities while providing customer service in the operation of a recreational, historic or natural resource park; interprets natural features of the area, or historic objects/artifacts for visitors; and ensures public safety by enforcing Park rules and regulations.
Knowledge of: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Park rules, fees and revenue functions; techniques for display and interpretation of objects/artifacts and general/natural resources to visitors; basic maintenance strategies, and general office procedures.
Skill in: Public relations and information dissemination; service orientation; critical thinking; active listening; driving and operating automotive equipment; basic curatorial techniques; natural resource management, basic maintenance troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance skillsets in areas such as landscape, plumbing, electrical and general construction/building maintenance; multi-tasking; and deescalation techniques.
Ability to: Research of natural or historical information; performing math calculations; first aid techniques; oral and written communications; interpersonal relationships; perform basic maintenance repairs,; deescalate upset or non-compliant visitors; train new staff in policies and procedures.
Two years of experience equivalent to a Park Ranger Assistant or one year as a Park Ranger, OR three years of work experience in customer service, maintenance in park related setting; OR a Bachelor's degree in Park Management, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or a closely related field. Any combination of training and experience that meet knowledge, skills, abilities may be substituted.
Must possess and maintain a current Arizona Driver's license appropriate to assignment. Some positions may require certification as an Emergency Medical Technician, Electrician, and/or Wastewater Treatment Operator.
