Job summary

City of Columbia is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and/or irrigation systems and equipment; performs general carpentry and minor building construction and renovation work; may supervise subordinate maintenance personnel when assigned; and performs related work as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of relevant prior experience.
• Valid South Carolina Class D Driver's License.
• Journeyman Certification in one of the building trades.
• HVAC certification optional.

Responsibilities

• Assists in supervising and performs general building maintenance and repair work.
• Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing systems and equipment.
• Installs, maintains and repairs electrical components and equipment.
• Maintains and repairs city facilities and parking facilities.
• Cleans, services, repairs HVAC and irrigation systems.
• Performs routine repairs and schedules maintenance tasks.
• Performs carpentry, masonry, concrete, and painting work.
• Hangs sheetrock, lays tile, and repairs roofing as needed.
