Job summary

Avantus, a leading developer and owner-operator of utility-scale clean energy projects in California, seeks a Sr. Paralegal to support real estate closings, title curative work, and cross-functional teams including project finance and development.

5+ years of real estate paralegal experience, a bachelor’s degree (paralegal certificate preferred), and CA Notary Public license are required. Proficiency with MS Office is expected; renewable energy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or paralegal certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of real estate paralegal experience in-house or at a law firm.
• Experience in renewable energy projects and closings strongly preferred.
• Transactional closing mechanics and title documentation proficiency.
• High accuracy, organization, and proofreading skills.
• Strong communication across multiple departments and external parties.

Responsibilities

• Order, review, and reconcile title commitments, surveys, and exceptions.
• Draft and coordinate real estate agreements, leases, easements, and estoppels.
• Manage project closings, calendars, and closing checklists.
• Draft title/survey comment letters to title companies and surveyors.
• Coordinate crossing consents and compliance with Construction team.
• Assist with post-closing duties and binders.
