Job summary

The State of Washington’s Attorney General’s Office seeks a permanent Paralegal 2 in the Complex Litigation Division, located in Seattle or Tumwater. The role supports civil litigation, manages discovery, and assists attorneys with trial preparation within a WFSE-represented framework.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting complex civil litigation or administrative proceedings.
• Excellent organizational skills with large volumes of information.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Experience with Everlaw or similar document review software.
• Effective communication with attorneys, clients, experts, courts, and team members.
• Thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to initiate conversations and generate workflows independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced litigation and trial support to Assistant Attorneys General in civil litigation and administrative proceedings.
• Manage complex and voluminous discovery, document review, and litigation support databases.
• Conduct legal research and prepare research summaries to support litigation strategy.
• Collaborate with attorneys, clients, experts, and litigation team members to ensure effective case management and successful litigation outcomes.
• Drafts and executes expert contracts per Agency and Division policies.
