Job summary

Permanent Placements LLC is seeking a Paralegal Senior Manager for its Chicago office. You will lead a large paralegal and project assistant department supporting hundreds of lawyers, focusing on performance, staffing, development, and workflow efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings substantial professional-services management experience, proven leadership of sizable teams, and the ability to build trusted relationships with lawyers, administrative leadership, and staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional credential.
At least 10 years of professional services or related experience.
Minimum 5 years of management experience with 15+ reports.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership and strategic management of the Chicago paralegal and project assistant department.
Collaborate with cross-office leadership to promote consistent policies, practices, and service standards.
Develop and adapt departmental plans in response to staffing and operational needs.
Build relationships with lawyers, staff, HR, and stakeholders.
Serve as a trusted resource on department operations and workflow matters.
Foster collaboration across practice groups and regular communications.
Forecast staffing needs and participate in recruiting and onboarding.
Oversee onboarding and ongoing staff development programs.
Monitor timekeeping and productivity, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
