Job summary

Toyota Financial Savings Bank in Plano, TX seeks a senior paralegal to join the Legal Department. You will support corporate governance, contract reviews, licensing, service of process, and legal research, reporting to the Managing Counsel and backing other paralegals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of paralegal experience in banking or financial services; a Paralegal Certificate is expected. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and NetDocuments is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support contract reviews and coordinate responses; legal research and writing.
  • Assist with business licensing and filings, including licensing research and renewals.
  • Provide general assistance to TFSB attorneys.
  • Backup coverage for other paralegals’ areas of assignment.

Who we’re looking for

Toyota Financial Savings Bank is searching for a highly motivated, self-directed, and experienced Senior Paralegal who will participate in building out the bank’s Legal Department.

The successful candidate will provide legal support in the areas of: corporate governance; contract reviews; licensing; handling service of process; legal research and writing; legislative tracking; responding to corporate due diligence requests; creating and maintaining legal process and procedure documentation, database, checklists and other tools for the legal team and the business; and general legal operations functions.

The successful candidate will report to the Managing Counsel and support the General Counsel, TFSB attorneys, and provide backup coverage to other TFSB paralegals. This position is based in Plano, Texas. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.

What you’ll be doing
  • Assist the General Counsel with corporate documentation and other materials related to the Board of Directors
  • Assist with legal filings, litigation, and subpoena processes
  • Review bills and new laws and regulations for relevance to TFSB business and strategy, and document analysis in the tracking system
  • Support contract reviews; review legal processes and help to coordinate responses; legal research and writing projects as assigned; create and maintain legal processes and procedures, tools, and checklists
  • Assist the TFSB Legal Team with business licensing and other necessary filings, including providing support for new licensing research, keeping licensing information and documentation organized for successive renewals, and management of service of process
  • Provide general assistance to TFSB attorneys
  • Provide additional support and backup to other paralegals’ areas of assignment to ensure sufficient coverage of legal operations
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience working as a Paralegal within the banking or financial services industry or supporting a law firm department representing the banking or financial services industry.
  • Paralegal Certificate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
  • Proficiency in NetDocuments or the like.
