Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Tax Software Engineering Lead. The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as a strategic and hands‑on leader, managing a portfolio of critical tax‑related applications that support business operations and compliance. You will help shape the future of our tax technology landscape, ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, and innovative. Reporting to the D&T’s Finance Solutions National Manager, this role supports the department’s objective to deliver high‑quality data solutions and services that empower the TFS enterprise and its global affiliates.
In this role, you’ll be the bridge between complex tax requirements and modern technology, helping ensure systems stay stable while driving meaningful improvements. Success means optimizing the tax application portfolio, building strong cross‑functional partnerships, and delivering solutions that reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy. Lead the management of both internally developed and commercial tax applications, ensuring they meet business needs, compliance standards, and security requirements. Drive continuous improvement efforts that reduce manual work, expand automation, and introduce AI/ML capabilities, including LLMs, into workflows. Support operational excellence across the full application lifecycle, including runbooks, disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and performance monitoring. Partner with AMS teams on post‑production support and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver tax technology initiatives successfully. Solve complex issues across application enhancements, batch processes, data feeds, and system integrations. Own and support key systems such as Tax Credit Management Systems, Vertex, VantagePoint, Collection Tax management Systems, Premium Pro and related tax platforms, helping ensure they remain robust and compliant.
