Qualifications

  • Paralegal certification required.

  • Experience with e-discovery and document review technology platforms.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Chapter 11 bankruptcies a plus (will train otherwise qualified).
  • Familiarity with Westlaw and PACER.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

About the job

The Senior Paralegal for the Commercial Litigation Team supports commercial litigation attorneys in the Corporate Legal Department and assists them with case management of all commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters.



Primary Responsibilities


  • Assist attorneys with case management

  • Respond to subpoenas and coordinate/manage to document productions

  • Draft correspondence, litigation hold notices, and ad hoc reports

  • Identify, compile, and review relevant documents for discovery and other purposes

  • Assist with case investigation



o Conduct factual and legal research


oDocument and present findings and opinions to attorneys


o Assist in contract and other document review, including electronic review


o Assist in witness interviews


o Conduct e-discovery, document review, and document production




  • Preserve and collect custodial data

  • Assume primary responsibility for managing low exposure cases and bankruptcies o Prepare and file claims in small bankruptcy matters o Track distributions and monitor relevant pleadings

  • Under direction of an attorney, resolve routine legal issues

  • Maintain case management database

  • Update and coordinate quarterly case reports

  • Organize electronic files of important case documents

  • Assist attorneys and outside counsel on special projects

  • Assist with the creation of systems to help organize flow of paper/documents/legal bills

  • Act as a bridge between legal and technical teams,. translating legal needs into technical requirements



The role of an individual contributor within the organization focuses on completing specific tasks and projects; contributing directly through their skills and expertise. Performs specialized technical tasks to support operations. Work is primarily achieved independently, however may collaborate with a team.



Pay Range: $37.31 - $48.28

What you’ll bring


  • Paralegal Certification required

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • At least 3 years of commercial litigation experience (with experience supporting in-house litigation teams preferred)

  • Experience with e-discovery and document review technology platforms

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with Chapter 11 Bankruptcies (creditors’ rights) is a plus, but not required (will train otherwise qualified candidate)

  • Familiarity with Westlaw or comparable research methodology

  • Experience using PACER is a plus

  • Strong computer skills (familiar with Word and Excel, and Docusign)

  • Experience with use of matter management system is a plus

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills

  • Professional demeanor

  • Able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Able to collaborate across different business units such legal, IT finance, and human resources
