Job summary

Ruiz Foods is seeking a driven Planner/Buyer to support our Direct Procurement team for paper packaging. You will manage a $20M portfolio of packaging materials across multiple U.S. plants, translating production demand into timely purchase orders and delivery plans.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to optimize inventory, reduce costs, and support packaging changes and new item launches while maintaining service levels and cash flow.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in consumer goods or food/beverage manufacturing preferred.
• Associate degree required; or five years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with material planning, buying, inventory management, and supplier follow-up.
• Strong analytical ability and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Plan and buy paper-based packaging materials across 200+ SKUs for multiple plants.
• Translate demand into purchase orders and delivery plans to support production schedules.
• Manage on-hand and supplier-held inventories balancing service levels and cash flow.
• Collaborate with suppliers to monitor delivery performance and lead times.
• Assist with packaging changes, new item launches, and transitions when needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve order quantities, lead times, and material availability.
