Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking a Sr Palo Alto Security Expert / Lead in Houston, TX to design, implement, and oversee secure network architectures. You will lead a team of security professionals, enforce global security standards, and drive remediation of risk across IT.

The role requires expert knowledge of Palo Alto and Prisma Access, strong communication, and the ability to work with stakeholders to improve security posture globally.

Qualifications

• Expert level Palo Alto Firewalls & Prisma Access design, operations and security.
• Expert in network security standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, threats, and risks.
• Experience with network access control concepts and methodologies.
• 5+ years of experience in network security operations and design.
• Security mindset with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Security certifications (CISSP, GIAC, CEH, etc.) and technology certs (PCNSA, PCNSE) are a plus.
• Ability to work in a team with limited direction and guidance.
• Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support for designing, maintaining, and optimizing global network security systems.
• Create and enforce global network security standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Implement secure network architectures and solutions.
• Perform technology and operational risk assessments, identifying control gaps and risky configurations.
• Work with stakeholders to drive remediation of security issues.
• Promote security awareness and advise on secure operational practices across IT and the organization.
• Provide technical and operational leadership for a team of network security professionals.
