Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a Firewall Engineer with a focus on Palo Alto Next Gen firewalls. The role includes leading technical efforts, providing SME-level hands-on support, and coordinating with Information Security and application teams at our Pensacola and other US locations.

The ideal candidate will design, implement, and optimize firewall policies, manage updates across a fleet of nodes, and drive documentation and CAB communications while ensuring alignment with security

Qualifikationen

• Advance hands on experience with firewall technologies.
• Experience with BGP routing protocol.
• Strong system design, administration, and security knowledge.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and collaborate across functions.
• Experience supporting Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

Aufgaben

• Serve as an experienced engineer working with application teams to properly shape firewall rules.
• Act as a liaison between the firewall team and Information Security.
• System network requirements gathering.
• Engineer/Implementation of Checkpoint Nextgen firewall policies.
• Engineer/Implementation of Palo Alto Nextgen firewall policies.
• Migrating legacy firewall policies to layer 7 policies.
• Support and implement holistic security stacks for Nextgen Firewalls (IPS, IDS, Layer 7 rules).
• Manage and implement Firewall code updates.
• In-depth troubleshooting and support of firewall fleet (>100 nodes).
• Evaluate technical solutions in response to business challenges.
• Present technical solutions for knowledge sharing and acceptance.
• Provide project support and status reporting.
• Establish and maintain system documentation.
• Represent changes via CAB meetings.
• Collaborate with partner teams in support of solution deployment.
