Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (Charleston, SC) is seeking a technical expert to perform Paintless Dent repairs (PDR) on vehicle exteriors to company standards. The role involves grinding, filing, and smoothing damaged surfaces, using power and hand tools, to restore body quality.

Responsibilities include dent removal, shaping work sequences, documenting production steps, and ensuring quality inspections. The position supports continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting and may involve mentoring

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
4+ years relevant experience or relevant certificate + 3 years experience or relevant assoc. degree + 1 year experience.
Preferred: 5+ years relevant experience or relevant certificate + 4 years etc.

Responsibilities

File, grind, sand and smooth surfaces using power and hand tools.
Pound out small dents with hammer, pick hammer, or punch.
Identify the best option to adjust or improve approaches.
Plan work to be performed.
Position dolly blocks and beat opposite surfaces to remove dents using hammers and tools.
Complete and ensure documentation related to the production process.
Perform quality and visual inspection.
May modify processes and approaches.
Provide guidance to junior team members on the job.
Participate in Continuous Improvement Program.
Work under broad supervision.
Participate in team meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
