Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Senior Packaging & Material Handling Systems Designer to support our Facilities and Industrial Systems practice, delivering packaging system designs from concept through construction with technical leadership.

This role is open to candidates in Meridian, ID; Houston, TX; Plover, WI; or Minneapolis, MN, with travel 10–30% expected. Ideal candidates have 9+ years in packaging systems design and strong CAD skills.

Qualifications

9+ years of progressive experience in packaging systems, material handling, or industrial facilities design.
Strong communication with clients and stakeholders.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools.
Willingness to travel 10–30%.

Responsibilities

Design and develop packaging and material handling systems.
Produce CAD and 2D/3D deliverables and building layouts.
Perform mass balances, conveyor calculations, and layouts.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior designers.
Support project execution, scope development and scheduling.
Lead or participate in site visits for data collection and construction support.
Present design deliverables to clients both virtually and in person.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and contractors.
Apply constructability, safety, and operational considerations.
