Job summary

Elanco is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to lead packaging development for pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and vaccine programs. The role involves ownership from early development through registration, collaborating with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory to implement compliant packaging solutions on a global scale.

Ideal candidates have a Master's in Packaging Technology or 5+ years in pharma packaging, with strong GMP knowledge and cross-functional communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Packaging Technology or related field, or bachelor’s with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical drug product development experience.
• Experience with packaging in a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials and development activities.
• Familiarity with GMP principles and regulated development environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication across cross-functional and global teams.

Responsibilities

• Own packaging development activities for assigned projects, defining and implementing primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging solutions from early development through commercialization.
• Serve as the packaging SME on cross-functional project teams with exposure to sterile and non-sterile packaging systems.
• Plan, execute, and interpret packaging tests and machine trials; evaluate data and support documentation and registration activities.
• Evaluate new packaging materials and suppliers to support compliant development solutions.
• Collaborate with global teams and external partners to support development timelines.
