Job summary

HP Hood is seeking a Sr. Package Development Engineer – Level II to join our R&D Packaging team. You will lead multiple packaging development projects, develop SME capabilities in complex packaging issues, and mentor engineers across cross-functional partners.

The role requires deep knowledge of packaging materials and processes, with strong focus on DOE and SPC analytics. Applicants should bring 10+ years in food packaging, BS/BE in a scientific field (MS/PhD preferred, packaging engineering

Qualifications

• 10+ years of food industry experience.
• BS/BE in a relevant scientific field.
• MS/PhD preferred; Packaging engineering degree preferred.
• Certifications such as Six Sigma, ELP or CPP are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple packaging development projects across units.
• Develop SME for packaging issues and opportunities.
• Coach and mentor junior packaging engineers.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production and R&D teams.
• Maintain packaging specifications and documentation.
• Lead data analysis of packaging specs and maintain reporting databases.
• Develop and validate packaging testing protocols and CQV events.
