Job summary

Institute of Packaging Professionals in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Senior Packaging Designer to lead packaging concepts from concept through final production. The role requires deep packaging expertise and thorough understanding of prepress and post-production processes.

You will manage dielines, proofs, and production-ready artwork across multiple brands, collaborating with printers, vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of packaging design experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating packaging design and production work.
• Expert knowledge of prepress, print production and post-production processes.
• Experience creating and working with dielines, mechanicals and production-ready artwork.
• Advanced Photoshop compositing, retouching, and image manipulation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to create photorealistic composite imagery suitable for both digital and print production.
• Strong understanding of print specifications, color management, substrates, finishes and proofing.
• Experience working directly with printers, vendors and/or manufacturing partners.
• Ability to independently manage packaging projects from initial concept through final production.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

• Own packaging design projects from concept through final production.
• Develop packaging concepts, layouts and production-ready artwork across multiple product lines.
• Manage the full prepress, proofing and production process, ensuring files meet printer and manufacturer specifications.
• Build and modify dielines, mechanicals and print-ready files.
• Review proofs, color, materials, finishes and production samples for accuracy and quality.
• Identify and troubleshoot production issues before final manufacturing.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, printers and manufacturing partners throughout production.
• Maintain brand consistency across packaging systems and product categories.
• Manage packaging revisions, versioning and final asset delivery.
• Support additional brand, ecommerce and product design initiatives as needed.
• Create high-quality Photoshop composites and product renderings for packaging, product launches, ecommerce assets, and marketing materials.
