Job summary

American Exchange Group in New York is seeking a Senior Manager, Packaging Design to lead the packaging strategy across hard and soft home categories. You will guide concept through production, ensuring innovative, brand-right, cost-efficient packaging while mentoring one Senior Packaging Designer and partnering with Product Development, Merchandising, Marketing, Sourcing, and overseas factories.

The role requires 5+ years in packaging design, expertise in dielines, print production, and Adobe

Qualifications

• 5+ years of packaging design experience, with leadership experience.
• Experience across hard and soft home packaging, bedding and decor.
• Expert knowledge of dielines, print production, materials and vendor processes.
• Experience in off-price, mass, department store or specialty retail markets.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Strong portfolio showing concept through production.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging design strategy for hard and soft home categories.
• Mentor one Senior Packaging Designer and oversee priorities and development.
• Develop innovative, commercially viable packaging concepts communicating benefits and value.
• Oversee packaging process from concept to production and delivery.
• Create and review dielines, mockups, print files, and 3D renderings.
• Collaborate with factories and vendors to troubleshoot production issues.
• Present concepts to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Maintain packaging standards, templates, guidelines, and best practices.
