Job summary

Core Home in New York City seeks a Packaging Design Leader to guide a small design team in creating innovative packaging concepts for consumer electronics. You will drive concept development, dielines, and collaboration with vendors and cross-functional partners.

You will mentor 2–4 graphic designers, ensure brand integrity, and push for sustainability and high-quality execution across all projects, reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in design with in-house or agency, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Packaging design leader with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in consumer electronics packaging.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Deep knowledge of packaging design, printing, materials, and structure.
• Strong understanding of printing materials and techniques, including sustainability considerations.
• Strong branding and logo design skills.
• Excellent hand skills and ability to oversee mockup packaging for stakeholder review.
• Photo retouching capabilities for packaging assets as needed.
• Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities, anticipate demands, and communicate status appropriately.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of creative packaging concepts and product graphics from concept to production, ensuring designs captivate consumers and clearly communicate product function.
• Create precise and innovative dielines for packaging structures, ensuring seamless production.
• Collaborate with vendors to communicate design specifications effectively and troubleshoot production challenges.
• Possess a deep understanding of print materials and techniques to ensure optimal packaging execution.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging packaging innovations, and safety compliance to continuously push the boundaries of design.
• Manage and mentor a team of packaging designers, setting creative direction and maintaining high quality standards across all projects.
• Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and supply chain to align packaging with broader launch strategies.
• Present packaging concepts and strategies to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Manage team of 2-4 graphic designers and ensure their execution is timely, accurate and within brand guidelines.
• Support interdepartmental organization and teams compliance with processes
