Job summary

Universal Shield Insurance Group in Dublin, OH is seeking a Senior P&C Underwriter to manage a renewal book around $7M-$8M and generate new business about $1.5M annually, with delegated authority on admitted and surplus lines.

You will analyze information, apply forms and endorsements, and collaborate with wholesalers, agents, and internal teams to price and place coverage while maintaining profitable growth and strong producer relationships.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of Commercial P&C underwriting experience.
• Designations CPCU, CIC or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service focus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Capable of managing a renewal book of approximately $7M-$8M and generating new business of approximately $1.5M annually.
• Analyze new and renewal business to accept, price, modify, or reject within delegated authority for Admitted and Surplus Lines.
• Review market conditions to determine coverage offering or adjustments.
• Apply forms, endorsements, and deductibles to mitigate risk.
• Prepare written reports and lead meetings documenting coverage decisions.
• Develop strong relationships with wholesalers and agents and provide underwriting guidance to producers.
• Identify opportunities to grow with existing and new sources of business; market insurance products and pricing strategies for profitable growth.
