Job summary

Universal Shield Insurance Group in Dublin, Ohio, is seeking a Senior P&C Business Analyst to elicit, document, and manage business and technical requirements for property & casualty insurance systems and initiatives. You will work across underwriting, claims, policy administration, and distribution to drive process improvements and successful implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Insurance/Risk Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of Business Analyst experience with Commercial Property & Casualty insurance products, operations, or technology.
• Working knowledge of P&C insurance functions and systems (policy administration, underwriting, rating, claims, billing, product, or distribution).
• Experience facilitating requirements-gathering sessions with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong technical and business writing skills with BRD/functional specs/user stories.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for developers and other tech resources.
• Familiarity with data analysis, SQL, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate requirements sessions with underwriting, claims, policy administration, distribution, product, and other P&C units.
• Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and manage business, functional, and technical requirements for insurance systems and process improvements.
• Translate requirements into BRD, functional specs, user stories, acceptance criteria, data mappings, and test cases.
• Analyze processes to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to define scope, timelines, dependencies, and risks.
• Work with developers and QA during SDLC to clarify requirements and assess solutions.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and UAT.
• Present requirements and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
