Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. in Chattanooga seeks a Senior P&C Engineering Specialist – Power Delivery Substation to oversee substation protection and control design projects from the Chattanooga office.

You will mentor junior engineers, review work for standards, perform scoping, and interface with clients to deliver compliant design products, including TVA-related projects when applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited university is required.
• Professional Engineer license is a plus but Mesa will assist in obtaining it.

Responsibilities

• Check and review junior personnel’s work for accuracy and adherence to client and national standards.
• Perform and review project scoping activities.
• Prepare engineering labor cost estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Travel to job sites as needed.
• Interface with client engineers to provide satisfactory design products.

Senior P&C Engineering Specialist – Power Delivery Substation

This position is based in the Chattanooga office and is focused on overseeing substation P&C design projects.

• Interface with client engineers to provide satisfactory design products

Education and Licensure

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited university is required
• Professional Engineer license is a plus but not required; Mesa will assist the successful candidate in obtaining their PE license

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in substation design and engineering
• Experience working directly for TVA is a plus but not required

Work Schedule

• May be required to work additional hours occasionally to meet deadlines; this is not expected more than a few weeks per year
• Desirable to work additional hours on occasion to meet client deadlines

Location

• Reports to the Chattanooga office
