Job summary

Marx Okuboworks is seeking a Project Manager (Construction) to oversee owner’s representative duties on large-scale commercial projects in Southern California. The role is hybrid with two days at Huntington Beach or Santa Ana offices, and site visits as needed throughout the week.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and 10+ years of experience, with strong budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and exceptional communication. Travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in Construction Management.
• 10+ years in construction management on large-scale commercial projects.
• Deep understanding of construction delivery methods and building codes.
• Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Strategic thinking and ability to anticipate issues.
• Autonomy and representation as firm ambassador.
• Honesty, reliability, and accountability.
• Up to 50% travel.

Responsibilities

• Act as owner's representative for large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Review documents for constructability, scope, and value engineering.
• Evaluate bids, pay apps, change orders, and GMP contingency usage.
• Manage budgets and provide financial reporting to clients.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Oversee site visits and meetings; travel as needed (local/regional).
• Ensure deadlines are met and analyze/determine delay claims.
• Create detailed, executive-level reports and present findings.
