Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. seeks a Senior Overhead Electrical Transmission Engineer to join our Electric Transmission Team in a remote capacity around Denver, CO, or Tucson, AZ.

You will lead planning and design of critical transmission infrastructure, advance grid modernization, and support renewable integration while delivering resilient solutions and guiding a team of engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices across various areas.
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, reports, and specs for transmission infrastructure.
• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues in transmission engineering.
• Lead advanced projects, collaborating with other departments and PM staff to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with milestones within budget and schedule.
• Guide and mentor junior engineering staff with technical reviews and support.
• Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients and regulators.

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Overhead Electrical Transmission Engineer to join our Electric Transmission Team in a remote capacity in or around Denver, CO, or Tucson, AZ, where you will lead the planning and design of critical transmission infrastructure projects that power communities and industries. In this senior role, you will help advance grid modernization efforts, support the integration of renewable energy resources, and deliver resilient solutions that enhance reliability while helping shape the future of energy transmission.

What You'll Do

• Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications for electric transmission infrastructure, including overhead lines, underground transmission, and grid-hardening upgrades
• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues in various areas of electric transmission engineering
• Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions that enhance grid resiliency and energy efficiency
• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints
• Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support
• Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices across various areas
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)

Salary Range

$120,000 - $135,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
