Job summary

Senior Friendship Centers, Inc. is seeking an Outreach Specialist to connect seniors and communities with available programs in a part-time role (~10 hours/week). You will support the Marketing and Communication Team and may work evenings or weekends for events.

The role involves traveling across Southwest Florida to attend events, present information, recruit volunteers and donors, and build partnerships with local organizations. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel and transport items to events.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work with databases, including Raiser's Edge and Volgistics.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Attend community events, health and volunteer fairs, donor events, and more to share information about SFC and to recruit donors, volunteers, members, participants, and clients.
• Conduct presentations and informational sessions to educate the community about available programs and services for seniors.
• Present in front of groups of diverse audiences, tailoring presentations to ensure content is appropriate for each group and setting.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure outreach resources are effectively distributed and utilized.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and community contacts.
• Track participation and feedback to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
• Work with program staff to identify emerging needs within the community and propose new initiatives.
• Train and engage volunteers to assist with outreach efforts as needed.
• Maintain schedule of outreach volunteers and track volunteer time.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and healthcare providers to increase awareness of Senior Friendship Centers’ offerings.
