University of Utah Health is seeking an experienced coding professional to abstract, code, and interpret outpatient clinic and provider services for professional and facility billing. The role applies regulatory guidelines to ensure accurate reimbursement and may serve as a resource for other coders.

This is a hybrid, full-time role based in Salt Lake City, UT. Responsibilities include final reconciliation, coding of complex services, training junior coders, and supporting auditing processes

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC certification recognized by the department.
• Three years of coding, clinical or billing experience.
• Ability to train others and lead projects.

Responsabilités

• Perform final reconciliation on clinic/provider visits and resolve documentation gaps.
• Review, abstract, and code multiple services including complex cases.
• Serve as a resource to coding staff, business office, providers, and managers.
• Research and resolve high volume or escalated suspended claims and compliance issues.
• Apply regulatory guidelines to coding and reimbursement decisions and educate staff.
• Assist in auditing and backlog reduction to maintain quality standards.
• Train levels I and II coders and potentially lead projects.
