Job summary

Five Below in New Jersey hybrid is seeking a Senior Logistics Specialist - Outbound Carrier Management to oversee outbound transportation, optimize carrier performance, and drive cost efficiency across the network.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with carriers, and the ability to influence internal stakeholders; you will manage carrier scorecards, dashboards, and collaborate with warehouse, service, procurement, and planning teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in transportation or logistics, with outbound carrier management focus.
• Experience managing common carriers, brokers, parcel, LTL, and TL freight.
• Strong analytical skills with freight and performance data analysis.
• Proficiency with TMS platforms and Microsoft Excel.
• Negotiation skills for contract management with carriers and providers.
• MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Outbound Transportation & Carrier Management: manage all aspects of outbound freight movement, carrier selection, routing and tendering.
• Cost Control & Optimization: analyze freight spend and identify cost-saving opportunities; support carrier sourcing events and contract negotiations.
• Service & Execution: ensure timely and accurate execution of outbound shipments; manage exceptions and high-priority shipments.
• Data, Systems & Reporting: use TMS and logistics systems to manage shipments; generate dashboards and carrier scorecards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with warehouse operations, customer service, procurement, and planning teams.
• Compliance & Continuous Improvement: ensure DOT safety compliance and drive continuous improvement.
