Job summary

West Yost is seeking an OTCR Technical Specialist IV (Controls & Automation) in Lake Oswego, OR. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration with remote work, focusing on planning, programming, and delivering industrial control systems for water infrastructure projects.

You will lead PLC/SCADA development, design advanced control strategies, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, reliable operations and cyber-informed engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 7+ years in PLC and SCADA system design and programming.
• Experience with PLC platforms (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens).
• Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition, Wonderware/AVEVA, FactoryTalk).
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles for control systems.

Responsibilities

• Leads planning, design, programming, and delivery of industrial control systems.
• Develops and tests SCADA and PLC programs for plant processes.
• Designs PLC logic and HMI apps; develops SCADA standards for reliability.
• Coordinates with electrical engineers and teams to align instrumentation and automation.
• Oversees QA/QC and mentoring of junior staff; supports project delivery.
