Job summary

You will collaborate with backend engineering, DevOps, and product teams to design comprehensive test plans and automate repetitive tests using tools like Postman, JMeter, and pytest.

Qualifications

• Must have strong backend testing and OTA system expertise.
• Experience designing and executing test plans for firmware/software distribution workflows.
• Proficient in at least one language used for test automation.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and HTTP protocols.
• Experience validating data integrity and database consistency.
• Ability to develop automated test scripts, frameworks, and utilities.
• Familiarity with API, performance, and automation testing tools.
• Familiarity with Git-based version control systems.
• Scripting skills (Bash/PowerShell) for test automation.
• Solid QA practices including test case design, defect tracking, regression testing, and failure scenario validation.
• Knowledge of monitoring/logging tools for deployment verification.
• Understanding of security and data protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive test cases for OTA update delivery systems.
• Validate backend services responsible for firmware and software distribution.
• Test progressive rollouts, staged deployments, and update delivery mechanisms.
• Verify database integrity and data consistency throughout update processes.
• Conduct load and stress testing on OTA infrastructure.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Perform regression testing after bug fixes and system updates.
• Validate update rollback and recovery procedures.
• Test edge cases, error handling, and failure scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with applicable security and data protection standards.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for repetitive testing activities.
• Create test frameworks and utilities for OTA backend testing.
• Build monitoring solutions to track update deployment metrics.
• Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Use appropriate API, performance, and automation testing tools to improve test coverage.
• Document test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test results.
• Participate in code reviews from a QA perspective.
