Job summary

The Senior OT Systems Engineer at CRH Americas Building Products will design, standardize, secure, and manage plant-floor OT infrastructure and its integration with enterprise IT systems to ensure reliable manufacturing operations.

This hybrid role based in Atlanta requires collaboration with plant engineering, automation, and maintenance teams, plus mentoring junior IT/OT staff and leading risk assessments and lifecycle management of OT assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years supporting OT or manufacturing IT environments.
• Experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI.
• Knowledge of OT networking concepts (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC).
• Familiarity with firewalls, switches, and secure remote access.
• Experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support standardized OT-IT integration.
• Define architectures aligned with ISA-95 / Purdue.
• Drive OT integration standards across sites.
• Support data exchange between production systems and ERP/MES.
• Collaborate with IT to design OT networks, including DMZs.
• Ensure OT environments meet IT governance and security.
• Provide senior-level troubleshooting for integration issues.
• Lead OT risk assessments and remediation activities.
• Maintain OT infrastructure lifecycle and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across sites.
