Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Education & Labor Cabinet, Department of Workplace Standards, seeks an OSH Certified Safety Specialist II. The role leads complex inspections, prepares technical reports, and develops advanced training on safety topics for public and private employers in Kentucky.

Qualifications

• Must have four years of professional experience in the occupational safety and health field.
• Must be certified as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license prior to employment.
• Must maintain required licensure/certification for the length of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead team inspections and write complex, technical reports with abatement recommendations.
• Develop and conduct high-level OSH training; create training materials for safety issues.
• Provide technical assistance to employers on OSH regulations and best practices.
• Evaluate on-site consultants’ aptitude and identify training needs; act as supervisor in absence of management.
• Participate in ongoing trainings to maintain certifications and knowledge of safety techniques.
