Job summary

The Nemours Foundation in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Orthotic Tech Sr. to lead daily lab operations in the Orthotic and Prosthetic department. The role involves fabrication, molding, fitting, and documenting patient care within the EMR, with emphasis on patient and family centered care.

The candidate will manage milling and carver workflows, maintain equipment and inventory, and support CPO/CP/CO with patient treatment plans, while adhering to Nemours policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum five years of experience in modifying plaster molds, pulling plastic, and custom brace design.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required.
• Certified O and P Assistant/Technician, Certified Pedorthist or Orthotic Fitter preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fill casts and modify molds for fabrication.
• Manage carver processes and digital modification of foam molds.
• Clean and shape braces.
• Repair and modify braces as requested.
• Prepare molds for pulling and cut the plastics for pulling and/or any digital modification.
• Pull plastics.
• Assist CPO/CP/CO with patient care.
• Clean lab equipment and assure all equipment is working properly.
• Maintain clean and orderly lab and exam room.
• Stock exam room with appropriate medical and clinical supplies
• Other duties as assigned.
