Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years experience as an Orthopedic Technician within the last three years.
• Knowledge of basic human anatomy, fractures, orthopedic equipment, and cast & splints.
• Ability to apply cast & traction and orthopedic appliance applications.
• Knowledge of surgical orthopedic and sterile techniques.
• Ability to work under direct supervision in the Operating Room.
• Customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with routine and advanced orthopedic procedures.
• Supervise Orthopedic Technicians I and trainees in cast application and OR procedures.
• Apply casts, splints, traction, and other orthopedic devices within technical scope.
• Prepare patients for procedures and set up instruments/equipment.
• Provide written cast care instructions and patient guidance.
• Record patient data and care services in medical records.
• Assist in cleaning wounds and managing drains and devices.
